1) Frequent stops. Being I’m, ahem, easily distracted, I tend to stop at and for anything and everything that catches my eye.

2) Food stops, coffee stops, fuel stops, trailer check stops, pee stops, more pee stops (hey, I’m 49).

3) Dictation to hitchhikers I pick up. (“Hey, want a boat ride?”)

4) Addictive, habitual refreshes of WB when I complete legs of the drive.

5) Construction delays on US 2 (when I wrote that last comment).

6) Safe arrival in Hessel (this comment).

Cushions and seat bases in my car too.

Sitting on them now.

When I close my eyes while driving, I feel like I’m on the water.

Then again, might be all the hydroplaning. So much rain, I think I coulda boated along the highway, towing the car on a barge.

PS. Scripps not in the car. Left that in the boat. I figure with water already in the oil, what’s another gallon or two?

PPS. Kidding about driving with my eyes closed, of course. (I only do that when I boat, to imagine I’m in my car.)

Once the boat’s interior is wet, a cover is useless. I trailered mine home uncovered in the rain. Once the rain stops, the wind actually helps air things out. I always pull the cushions when trailering, wet or dry.
