BREAKING NEWS. Stolen Chris Craft Racer FOUND!

Woooohoooooo!
This just in. Woody Boater is breaking the news.. Which is news unto it’s self…

Dublin Ohio.
The Chris Craft racer that Woody Boater reported on several weeks ago has been found, thanks to the hard work of the Dublin Ohio police dept. It was found based on a statement that the boat was in a storage shed in town. The person of interest ( No Name as of yet) had toured the open house that is for sale with the boat in the garage. Asked about the house, and later returned, jarred the back door open and stole the boat with a rented truck…The realtor was suspicious and that led police to that man. The man had lived down the street at one time and is known in the area. Police are still looking for him, but the boat is safe.
The original interior had been removed to be reupholstered. Ugh! The gauges are out and the flat head motor and trailer had been repainted silver. He had bragged to all his friends and family that he had gotten a boat and was restoring her. I am not sure for what show… Maybe prisons are now doing boat shows… You know, all made from popsicle sticks and varnish… wait that would be kinda cool….any way back to the news. So a big shout out the the Dublin Ohio police department. You earned your donuts this month… Wooohoooo!

How 'bout giving the owner first shot at him before the justice system…….I see the crook being dragged around the lake, bound and gagged, at the end of a ski rope. They could make it more interesting (and fulfilling to the owner of the stolen boat) by removing sections of the rope just like in the ski competitions. Then they could hang him with it? Then let the justice system have him because they'll probably turn him out on to the street right after they book him. Pffffft.

Wow!!! Ken, that's pretty brutal. He might actually volunteer for a jail term to avoid such treatment. "Please judge, don't send me out there, there's a linch mob waiting with a rope! aaaand a boat???."

Good police work found the missing boat. That's great!!!

The old ways are better! Wrap him in a newly killed deer pelt, tie him to a tree and let the vultures eat him alive. Man, I miss the old days…….

I'll bet the thief gets off with a good scolding from the judge. After all, it was just an old wooden boat that was left to rot away in a garage, he thought he was doing the owner a favor by getting it hauled out of there.
I like the drag him behind a boat idea.

  5. WoodyBoater says:

There are clearly some "Issues " that the thief is dealing with. It's a sick mind that tells one family and friends that you just got a boat and fixing it up. We are finding out more as it happens. Stay tuned.

They should put him in a cell with the toilet, the boating magazines, and the corn for a long time.

My comment may have seemed harsh, but it was based on personal experience…..the justice system is too bogged down to deal with this appropriately. Property violation is no longer significant in today's world. I bet he gets off (too) easily. If I'm wrong, hey, I'm wrong. I hope the owner of the boat will be as concise with his follow-up on this as he was with his original request for help.

IMO, the means that the thief went to in order to cover up his "acquisition" of his "new" toy is as bad as the theft itself—after all it resulted in the originality of the boat being significantly altered—something that cannot be changed. I bet the thug hasn't one possession of his own that he honestly worked for that can be taken from him, passed off as someone else's, modified beyond recognition, and then thrown back to the thief with an "Oh, well" attitude. I'll be interested to see what his punishment is out of all of this.

I'm happy to hear the boat has been found.. but, it's useless thughs like this who are responsible for contributing to driving up the insurance costs for our boats. I too would bet the farm this person gets off the hook way too easy. It would be nice to find out who this person is and what the sentence is.
