Woody Boater arrived in historic Lake Chelan, Washinton late Friday afternoon, a few minutes before sunset… with just enough time to get down to the Don Morris Park & Marina to snap a few shots of the awesome vintage mahogany boats on hand for this year’s event. It looks like there are over 30 antique & classic boats here this year, many new boats that we have never seen before which is exciting.
As I peck away on the old computer preparing tomorrow’s story (it’s just after 1:30 AM local time) we can hear a major thunder shower moving through the area and it’s raining cats & dogs, but we have our fingers and toes crossed that the rainy weather moves through before Saturday morning… We hope the good weather forecast isn’t a “Longshot”.

Fellow Woody Boaters Janet & Tom Cathcart brought their freshly restored 1953 Shepherd 110S “Huckledybuck” to Chelan. Texx – Note to self… Try to get a ride in “Huckledybuck” on Saturday.
If the weather cooperates, the vintage Unlimited Hydroplanes will be uncorked and begin running on the course around 10:00 AM and Woody Boater will be there to experience the sights, sounds & smells of Aviation Fuel all day.

Longshot is sitting a bit low but that is just due to the fact that she most likely has a full fuel tank for the weekend’s festivities.
