Despite the lunchtime shower the Water Wonderland Chapter of the ACBS big show was a huge success. Thanks to WoodyBoater Chad we have some shots….The event draws many of the finest wooden boats in Michigan and the Midwest (and even one from Florida this year). The docks along the Boardman River were a perfect location to display more than 50 boats. Some land exhibits displayed ice boats, kayaks, canoes and other small craft. Hagerty was there to get the kids involved with their Youth Judging Program. Where kids age 8-14 put on their judges’ hats and vote for their favorites. The program is part of Hagerty’s initiative to introduce the wooden boat hobby to kids. Hagerty was also host of a post game party to celebrate there 25 years in the hobby. Chris Smith was there with his boat. Dang! While we were at Clayton the party was in Michigan….
