Lake Dora Sunday – Rush Hour at 10:00 AM

7:00 AM on Sunday morning, last day of the 2010 Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival. Hoping to get some final shots of all the beautiful boats before they start to load them on the trailers at 12:00 PM.

Not too many people on the docks this early, a great time shoot some photos and admire the boats one last time. This boat show continues to grow in popularity for both the owner’s and spectator’s, and is certainly a great way to kick off the boat 2010 boat show season.

Must have been a good party under the big tent last night, looks like some folks decided to sleep in late!
“Bay Horse” is a 1925 26′ Chris-Craft Triple Cockpit powered by a 316HP Scripps V-12, and is owned by Lou Jezdimir from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We will be doing a full story on this boat and it’s owner in the coming weeks – It’s a great story so stay tuned….

Last chance to pick up your vintage Tee Nee trailer parts and accessories from Wally’s.

Or to pick up your rare One-of-a-Kind home made Cat c/w Twin 1957 Johnson 35′s. The ad said “Big Water / Smooth Ride”.
Then around 9:00 AM the Sunnyland Officials announced that there was some severe weather moving into the area. The boat owner’s were advised that the launch ramp would be open earlier at 10:00 AM to begin the boat recovery procedure to avoid any complications from the weather. For purposes of efficient recovery, each boat on display had a number associated with it’s trailer and Rush Hour began at 10:00 AM sharp.

You can imagine what happens when 150 boats all want to get loaded at the same time to avoid the severe weather moving in. However thanks to the experienced volunteer’s working the ramp and the great organization of the Sunnyland crew, to my knowledge everyone got loaded without incident. The system worked well.It was a site to see, so many antique and classic boats moving out of the water so quickly.

Then it was time for the exhibitor’s at the Flea Market to load up their stuff for the long trip home. "BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453872198582744594" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_074AjHs8wkU/S7AL3mbnNhI/AAAAAAAAAk8/ew8dPXcRZsw/s400/Mt+Dora+Sunday+108.JPG" border="0" />

The 2010 Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival hosted by the Sunnyland Chapter of the ACBS was once again a fantastic event. Show Chairman Terry Fiest, his team of volunteer’s and everyone involved in this year’s event did an outstanding job.

You guys must have enough stories for a year. Lots of interesting boats that I look foward to hearing about such as those lapstrake racers. Thanks for the effort.

Matt: Great meeting you and the Captain, who buy the way should be your poster boy for your caps! Did you actually talk to the guy with the plywood cat? I hung around waiting for him and he never showed up. Was wondering how much it was?

Captain Grumpy – I also tried to find the fellow that was selling the Home Made Cat with the Twin '57 Johnson's, but no luck… The sign said 6,500.00 OBO.

Wally – It was great to meet you and thanks for the cool Lake n' Sea cap!
