



At this years Clayton show, I noticed some fun graphics on the sides of boats. In fact in the permanent collection there are some side graphics on boats. On the surface it seems almost sacrilegious to do that to all that beautiful wood work, but done right it can really set off the wood, and possibly cover a Dutchman or two… Not sure how the trend started…my guess is that photography is what set this idea off. When shooting a race boat zipping by, you cant see the name, so the manufacturers made the name as large as possible. And thus the trend started. Or it was ego.. I think there were big ego’s before photography…
