Do not be fooled it is not a Chris Smith decoy. Wrong head shape, wrong body shape and meterial, color and construction other then that it’s a fine duck.

Most Chris Smith decoys were hollow body wood decoys with an affixed bottom and a weighted keel. This one appears to be cork?? Or is that Styrofoam?
I have heard this same statement, “Made by the Chris-Craft factory during World War II” numerous times in the last few months. Does anyone know whether this was even true? Last I heard the factories were absolutely up to their ears in boat production during the war. The numbers of government boats that Chris-Craft produced during WWII is staggering. I don’t know how they would have pushed a boat to the side so that they could work on duck decoys.
